An Official Business Account is a verified business phone number that has been authenticated as a notable brand. OBA numbers display a blue checkmark beside their name in contacts.
OBA accounts appear in WhatsApp search results. Non-OBA numbers only appear if added to contacts.
If denied, you can submit a new request after 30 days. Use this time to build your brand presence.
Must have substantial presence in online news articles from publications with sizable audiences.
Your business must meet all of the following requirements to qualify for OBA status
Must comply with WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy
Business registered on WhatsApp Business Platform for at least 30 days
Represents a well-known, frequently searched business or brand
Business portfolio verified through Business Verification
Two-step verification enabled on business phone number
Business phone number's display name has been approved
If you meet all criteria but don't see an option to apply for OBA in WhatsApp Manager, reach out to your Meta point-of-contact, Solution Provider support, or Meta Support to check your eligibility for the application process.
Notability requires substantial presence in online news articles from publications with sizable audiences. This reflects your brand's recognition and authenticity.

OBA status is assessed at the display name level. If you change the display name after receiving OBA status, we will re-assess notability.
